As the retrofit industry evolves, staying compliant with the latest standards is more critical than ever. PAS 2035:2023, the newest update to the UK’s retrofit standard that will be mandatory from the end of March 2025, marks a significant step forward in aligning with best practices and supporting the nation’s net zero emissions goals.
At ECO Surv, we are excited to announce that our platform and services will fully support PAS 2035:2023 projects. And as of today, our customers can lodge ECO and GBIS projects end-to-end under the new PAS 2035 standard, ensuring full compliance with TrustMark.
Key Dates
- January 2025: PAS 2035:2023 job lodgement now live for ECO4/GBIS on the ECO Surv platform.
- March 2025: The PAS 2019 standard phases out by 30th March 2025.
- April 2025: PAS 2035:2023 is mandatory for WH:SHF Wave 3 – ECO Surv will be ready to help you manage your projects.
With PAS 2035:2019 no longer being accepted from April, transitioning to PAS 2035:2023 is therefore essential. Our goal is to make this shift as smooth as possible for our customers, ensuring full compliance and efficient job management.
Are You Ready for PAS 2035:2023?
To gauge industry readiness for working under the new standard, we surveyed our customers in early December 2024 and…
- 32% plan to take on PAS 2035:2023 projects before March 2025
- 19% are not planning to transition early
- 48% are unsure when they will begin
Encouragingly though, 71% of our installer customers are already PAS 2030:2023 accredited, indicating that the supply chain is preparing well for the upcoming standard. However, many in the industry are still uncertain about the transition.
At ECO Surv, we are here to provide guidance and tools to help our customers confidently move forward. Whether you are already working under PAS 2035:2023 or just starting to prepare, our platform and services offer the support needed to ensure compliance.
Supporting Retrofit Coordinators On-Site
Retrofit Coordinators are set to play an increasingly hands-on role under PAS 2035:2023. Our customer survey revealed that 52% of Retrofit Coordinators are preparing to carry out on-site assessments themselves. With evolving TrustMark guidelines, this shift could significantly change the way Retrofit Coordinators operate.
ECO Surv’s platform is designed to simplify on-site job management, enabling coordinators to lodge jobs and track progress effortlessly. And through our in-house ECO Surv Retrofit Coordinators and our extensive network, we’re fully equipped to support our customers with on-site RC needs, ensuring seamless project execution.
By staying ahead of industry changes, we ensure that coordinators have the tools they need to succeed in the field and our customers can access key experts when needed.
Supporting WH:SHF Wave 3 Projects
For those involved in WH:SHF Wave 3 projects once the funding has been announced, our platform enhancements go beyond compliance. We are updating our SHDF workflow to provide greater transparency on project milestones, team management, and permissions. These improvements are designed to streamline project delivery and ensure seamless coordination throughout the retrofit process.
To see how we’ve successfully supported SHDF projects, check out our SHDF Wave 1 case study where we partnered with Waltham Forest on a key retrofit initiative across 40 flats – achieving an impressive average EPC uplift from D to B.
